We work with vendors such as Tigo Shops, Mars Communications, Al Nisa, The Gadgets and others to bridge the digital gap in Tanzanian communities with business tools that are built to accelerate digital transformation.

Issues we are addressing with Tunzaa across personal finance, banking, e-commerce & business

What did Tunzaa build?

We’ve launched 4 mobile apps (2 marketplace apps for Android & iOS users) that has a catalogue of over 1,000 products and services in tourism/safari/travel, electronics, kitchenware and more and you can download either of these from our website here.

We are currently beta testing 2 business apps for Android & iOS users which will empower our vendors with the ability to understand their businesses from a new perspective with real time analyzed reports. Join the beta test if you have a business by contacting us here and we will onboard you pretty fast.

We have custom-built a dashboard for our team to manage the way we offer our services to our customers.

The platform allows, based on access levels, administrator to resolve issues, understand growth, follow up on orders and contact customers for deliveries, products and to ensure we offer the best customer service.

Jacqueline is one of the very first people to use Tunzaa and she started by sharing her journey to buying a laptop. Jacqueline also known as “Coco” on Twitter runs a digital channel called “Dear Coco”on Twitter, Instagram and Telegram dedicated to sharing relationship stories, struggles and the like. She has a YouTube show with her husband in a collaboration with Carol Ndossi that highlights issues with cyber bullying and other social issues.

“I am an impulse spender and I love new stuff. Bad combination. Here’s finally a way around it. I could finally buy what I want without putting a dent on my budget, and tame my spending behavior as well. There has been a remarkable behavioral change since Tunzaa”

Vendors

Tunzaa is proud to work with young vendors like Mwashey ‘Siima’ Masoud who runs Kitchen Essential. She was the first vendor on Tunzaa and she’s happy that Tunzaa has made it easy for her to work with customers who can’t pay full amounts at a go. It’s refreshing to see Tanzanian made technology empowers vendors like Siima with digital and financial transformation. You can follow her Twitter account here to check out a range of her kitchen products (also available on Tunzaa). Siima said

“I am very grateful to Tunzaa for working with me, it has made life easier for me and for my customers who need to buy things but are unable to pay in lump sum. Tunzaa has come to make it easier for you to pay in tiny installments”

Artists

Tunzaa provides a platform for Tanzanian artists to sell their works directly to their fans by accepting tiny payments. We also work directly with some of these artists like Anaïs & Natalie who are an illustrator and a photographer respectively. Anaïs made amazing art when we announced Tigo Shop collaboration. Natalie also

We are creating direct opportunities for these artists to continue to create and earn. Here’s where you can check out their recent works and even hire them for some work, Anaïs (twitter) & Natalie (Instagram).

Team

Tanzanian tech community has been supportive from the beginning. There was a time we need support and we called out for volunteers who showed up and really held us together. Most of our customers offered support too as volunteers and here we highlight just a few we can.

“Tunzaa has impacted me in so many beautiful ways, as a customer and as a former team member. It has and still is teaching me (and hopefully many others) a lot in the corporate world. It was and still is an honor being part of Tunzaa.” Christina Mashelle, University of Dar es salaam (Volunteered at Tunzaa)

“Tunzaa was my first thrust into the corporate world and it is definitely a dream workplace. As a scientist, entering the Fintech world was nerve racking but under Tunzaa I felt heard and comfortable.” Sandra (former Customer Services at Tunzaa, she’s now working at Tanzania Breweries Limited)

“Joining Tunzaa has changed my life in a way I never imagined, I have grown and learned so much in a span of a few months. It’s been incredible to watch Tunzaa grow and the team as well as it has.” Maryam Baba, Customer Experience Manager at Tunzaa
